The Falmouth Historical Society is a charitable, non-profit organization established under IRS Section 501(c)(3), so donations to the Society are tax-deductible. We do not receive funding from any government entity or program, and rely solely on the generosity of our membership and visitors.
If you would like to support the Society with a donation, you can mail your tax-deductible contribution to the Falmouth Historical Society; PMB 367, 190 US Route 1; Falmouth, ME. At your option, donations may be made to the general fund, to the endowment fund, or to a specific area of interest of your choice. If otherwise unspecified, donations will be applied at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
DONATE ITEMS OR ARTIFACTS:
We welcome items relating to Falmouth's History which may be used for research or display. All donations are tax-deductible, and we will provide you with documentation of your donation.
Due to space and other resource limitations, we are not always able to accept all offers. The best course of action is to contact the Society and as to have a member of the Collections Committee contact you to view and discuss your proposed donation. If we are able to accept your items, we will ask you to sign an agreement transferring all rights to the item to the Society.
Items and artifacts may also be loaned to the Society for research or display. However, you would retain ownership of the item. In this instance, there would be no tax implications for you or the Society. Please contact the Society to discuss this option with a member of the Collections Committee.
